Day 8 – Alive

You know that blissful few seconds when you first wake up…right before “you remember”

Your remember might be…
The night before
Something you did or something done to you
Something you have to do today – something you get to do today
Words said that you wish could be taken back
Is it really Monday already?

Sleep is lovely isn’t it…a chance to rest our minds and emotions from all the activity of wakefulness.

20 years ago I woke up knowing I’d have a baby that day – our precious Trevor arrived in the afternoon after being induced – a much awaited and joyful occasion.

This morning I woke to heartbreak, dread, anger, fear – just more of the same motherhood challenges…rough day yesterday.

But that’s life, yes? There are going to be amazing days and not so good days…but to be aware and to be really alive and engaged…taking each day as they come…not hiding, or escaping (at least not for long)…that’s were our bravery kicks in.
