Day 22 – Beauty

So…true confession…while I LOVE to read, I have this tendency to start books and then get distracted by NEW books and have a hard time finishing the OLD books – and while my life is fairly clutter free – the exception would be books – I have them stashed everywhere – and with the best of intentions.  I’ll get to them ALL I say to myself. Yay for good intentions, haha.

However, I will say that timing is everything.  I used to really give myself a hard time about delays anywhere…work, home, etc. but I have learned that sometimes God’s grace can be found in delays and that sometimes (believe it or not) things have a way of working themselves out without any interference from me.

Anywho, this morning I was determined to finish the last flippin’ chapter of Love Warrior…and what a blessing that several week delay turned out to be.  The finally chapter section was on beauty – particularly beautiful women…below are some snippets…

Fake sexy is a costume, a mask
Real sexy is taking off all your costumes and being yourself
Pretty is sold by marketers, is fickle, and we’re told, can be bought
Beautiful  means ‘full of beauty’
Beautiful is not your outside but what you are made of
Beautiful people fill up on beautiful things – dancing, art, nature, people
Beautiful women glow
You might not notice how a beautiful woman looks, because you’ll be distracted by the way she makes you feel…Her beauty will overflow to you.
Beautiful, wise, women know that the quickest way to fill up with beauty is to soak in another human being.

winnie-the-poohBeautiful women glow – seriously, who doesn’t want that???  Millions of dollars a year is spent on trying to achieve glow.  Y’all – this is the beautiful I aspire to be – the kind of person that brings light, hope, bravery, and beauty to others. The inside beautiful.  The beautiful that sacks in other human beings. BUT I can’t do that or be that if I’m holding on to clutter – physical, mental, emotional. I can’t be that if I am full of fear or anxiety. It can only come from a place of security…beginning with knowing WHO I belong to and feeling safe in my place in this journey.  And speaking of journey – it’s not gonna happen overnight…it’s gonna happen through experiences, through trial and error, and time.

Great way to begin the weekend…AND…book is complete! Yay for type A tendencies.
