Yesterday I had a phone interview with a representative for an affiliate program that could not have gone worse. I had no idea how to respond to her questions. She finally said something along the lines of “call back when you have your shit together.” Just kidding, she wasn’t quite that blunt, but it was clear that I was woefully unprepared.

And then today, in my Prose writing class, my lack of literary education was apparent. When you spend half the class googling terms being thrown around, you know you’re out of your depth. Even now as I write this, my handy dandy Grammarly editor is telling me that I have sentences in the passive voice.

I don’t even fully know what the PASSIVE voice means!?!

But you know what – who gives a damn.

Just get out there and try. Try something new. Try something hard. Try something that knocks you on your ass, dust off, and get back up. It’s called resistance training, and it’s good for you.

It’s Five Minute Friday… five minutes of uninterrupted writing…no editing. No overthinking. Just write! The exercise of writing for just five minutes is to help build a writing discipline, and I thank you for tagging along as I work on my writing craft! I’m so proud of you for trying! I haven’t had the nerve to try anything like that before so you are one up on me. Love your attitude! FMF #79 this week.
