Seek and You Shall Find

Psalm-34.18

Motherhood…what else can be said?

It’s hard – duh!

Children are a piece of your heart and soul …both a blessing and challenge.

At this stage of my life I am the mother of two teenagers and they challenge me everyday. I will eventually look back at this season and probably have a good laugh or at the very least see how God was moving among us (Romans 8:28) but today…today is a challenge.

Last week my heart was broken by a choice my child made (this is becoming a pattern) and I was sharing with a young lady at church and as we talked she quoted Psalm 34:18 and it gave me pause.

Why?

Because ALL of this – this past year, this thing called motherhood, this season of raising two young men has brought me closer to God. Guess what I spend my time on these days…LOTS of prayer, LOTS of Bible study, LOTS of talking to other Christian mothers, LOTS of surrender and relying on my Lord. I am seeking the Lord and He is close to me…what a wonderful gift and change in perspective. My own faith is being worked out and my journey continues…that gives me joy and reminds me of a favorite quote “When you realize God is all you have, you realize God is all you need.”

Blessings – DM
