Do you know me well? If so, you’ll shortly be shaking your head and asking “why, oh why?” If not, let me share a bit…I seriously think I have a touch of obsessive/compulsive disorder (duh). Seriously. Why else would I sign up for the Blogging101 AND Photo101 30 day challenge right on the heels of the Write31days challenge??? Because blogging is my latest compulsion. And let’s make it interesting by adding a photo challenge as well.
So with that…let me explain…
Blogging 101 – Introduce yourself and share why you blog.
You can read about me here. You can also ask me about anything…I’m not necessarily forthcoming all the time but it’s mostly because I find you more interesting to talk about than me!
Why am I blogging – besides it being a compulsion? Because I’m seeking more passion in my life. I feel like it’s time for a new hobby…a new outlet…and I’m working it out by writing. I also like the challenge of becoming a better writer. I like the challenge, accountability and fellowship of other bloggers. I also like the challenge of waking up my creative self…seeing the world anew. Finally…The Book of Ecclesiastes:
“Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher.
“Everything is meaningless!”
Solomon…at the end of his life, realized everything he pursued of the world was meaningless…money, women, power, all of it. Everything that is, except the pursuit of God. I don’t pretend to have all the answers but it is certainly something that has been on my mind a whole lot these days…how am I spending my days? On the pursuit of the ultimately meaningless efforts or something that will leave a legacy. Good stuff to ponder. I believe blogging can have a legacy effect.
Photo 101 – Introduce yourself and share an image that means home
I’ve thought about the home question all day. I decided to submit this picture of my foot prints on the beach…caught just before the wave washed them away. I took this picture with Ecclesiastes in mind…about how fragile and brief my life will be…just a vapor really. Earth is just my temporary home…but home nonetheless…I want to make the very most of the time here but I also want to look back and know it was a life well lived.
