Started a new Bible study today titled “Entrusted”
We were never meant to take this journey of faith alone or in secret. God has entrusted us with the great and mighty gift of the gospel, something too precious and life-giving to keep to ourselves.
In this 6-session Bible study, Beth will encourage you to guard what God has entrusted to you, further His kingdom by sharing Christ with others, and pour into future generations just as Paul once mentored Timothy. Because in this journey of joy and hardship, we need each other to stay the course and live a life of faithfulness.
Timely isn’t it? Because in this journey of joy and hardship, we need each other to stay the course and live a life of faithfulness.
Love God’s timing.
The best part of the opening video session for me this morning…Acts 14:5-7
When an attempt was made by both Gentiles and Jews, with their rulers, to mistreat them and to stone them, they learned of it and fled to Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and to the surrounding country, and there they continued to preach the gospel.
Not sure about you, but being mistreated and having stones thrown at me is not the best of times. In fact, I’d say it was a terrible time. But what I learned today was when Paul (who is part of they) fled to Lystra, that is where he meets Timothy and begins a relationship that is precious to both of them. It totally goes back to the story of the horse and how something that looks bad on the surface could be the beginning of something wonderful. Point is, WE DON’T ALWAYS KNOW.
Two verses come to mind…they are right next to each other in Romans…
Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. Romans 8:26
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
What do you pray for when you have no idea which way is up? I’ve gotten to the point that I KNOW that I don’t always know best…and yes, I’ll hang on to always for a little longer. I have had the privilege of meeting so many new friends over the last several months and I have grown spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. It is definitely a season but today’s session gave me renewed hope and encouragement. God is on the move and I’m a part of His story.
Closing thoughts, we were charged in the study to pray for several things as we embarked on this six week journey – I’d love for y’all to join me in praying.
- Recognize and embrace the tension of being a humble servant of God and having complete confidence in God to work through us.
- We will be asked to do what we cannot do – Be Faithful.
- We were created to be Mighty Servants of God – Live Boldly – Be Brave
- Ask God to show favor on our lives and on our journey – and have guts to believe it true.
I’m excited and encouraged,
