This morning I got a phone from Trevor who is away at school…
Shaky, nervous voice
“Mom? I’m not really sure how it happened”
Uh oh…I’m 2,000 miles away and my heart skips a beat.
Alright already – what happened????
Long story short, he was involved in a fender bender. In the grand scheme of things nothing much – but it was his first. Add in some college freshmen anxiety, lack of sleep, and general loneliness and you have a recipe for two stressed humans – him and me.
Over the course of the next two hours, James tried to talk him through changing the destroyed tire. It’s one thing to know how to change a tire…quite another to actually do it by yourself. And of course, when it rains it pours. There were complications. Did I mention we were TWO THOUSAND miles away…I was a miserable mama…feeling completely powerless.
Enter my love of the day…the jeep community. Being so far from home I called on the Brazos Valley Jeep community in Bryan and being true to form they responded to the call for help…within 30 minutes a jeep member – one that doesn’t even know us – showed up and helped Trevor out. HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!?!? That is the epitome of community…helping out whenever and however you are able. And I am so proud to be a part of the Jeep Family.
Thank you guys – y’all are so awesome! I only hope I can pay it forward one day.
