Day 10 – I Love You, You

Do I Have To???

Let me tell you how much I wanted to go to the gym today…
Or how much I wanted to clean house or put up laundry…
Or what about a blog entry this late in the evening…


Evan asked me the other day why I was doing this challenge and I was trying to explain how doing something like this was like his 2000 club in wrestling – where they do something like 2000 pushups, sit-ups, pull ups and other ridiculous things.  The point of the 2000 club is to really push them for a short amount of time to really build strength, endurance and PERSEVERANCE.Many-of-the-greatI finally dragged myself to the gym…I was awarded by a wonderful yoga session – I’m finally mastering the Warrior 3 pose.

My house is clean and all the laundry is done…at least for today.

And I’m writing even though I’m tired…I want to be a better writer and the discipline of writing everyday is creating a strength that can only come from struggle and digging deeper.


What does this have to do about love?  What about the love of self? How many times do we make promises to ourselves that we don’t keep.  We SAY we want to be healthier and don’t do anything about it.  Or we say we’re gonna stop procrastinating…tomorrow.

That inner dialog verses the reality of our actions.  

When we’re faithful to ourselves we grow our disciple “muscle” and being disciplined builds self esteem. It’s a very loving habit. So yeah…I love you, you :)
