Christ the Wisdom and Power of God

For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1:18

The latest craze in the COTHA offices are these fitness bracelets that measure our movements, sleep, calories etc.  Several of us have the same brand so we can “follow” each other and while you will endure some ribbing, it WILL help keep you accountable.  The reason I procured one of these bracelets is because the nature of my job is sitting at a desk…in fact, longer sitting = more production.  Additionally, I have the ability to focus for LONG periods of time which also contributes to sitting and sitting and sitting some more.  So this bracelet of mine “reminds” me to move and tracks my steps…motivating me to make changes I otherwise wouldn’t even think about without the bracelet.

So what in the world does this have to do with 1 Corinthians 1:18??

I’m sure there is more that one person rolling their eyes as they read this…or like my husband who just shakes his head.  This is just another foolish craze…folly.  But to me…this is power.  This is the power of focus, the power of change, the power of accountability, the power of life change.

Again, what in the world does this have to do with 1 Corinthians 1:18??

There are those who think Christians are crazy, foolish, and just plain dumb…but to those of us being saved, we know better…AND…while the world offers life hacks that give us “power”…

How much more power is the Gospel?
How much more power is there in the death of Jesus FOR me? The love, the sacrifice so I might have life.
How much more power is there in GOD???

The Gospel = Power of God

Just now…for real…I just got buzzed for sitting too long so I’m off…God bless you today as you and I journey together!
